Up-Fall
The fields are rich with color especially in the evening when the sun casts its subtle light. This is the beginning of fall when the reeds and weeds change color and die. Fall rises from the earth in a pallet of color many weeks before the leaves begin their spectacular splash. I love all of the seasons at Winterthur especially the Fall.
In the fall, Natalie and I play a game where we must catch a leaf falling from the tree. The giant oaks float like balloons to the ground and are by far the easiest to catch if the wind is not too strong and maybe the poplar are the hardest because they fall so quickly. While I try to select the easiest leaf to catch, Natalie who surrenders to the wind and the leaves and her youthful energy ends up catching far more than I do.
