Redtail Hawk
Usually the Hawk is perched high in a tree at the edge of the field discretely hiding from the pestering crows that squawk at it and dive at it until it moves.
Yesterday, the Red Tail Hawk startled me. Her appearance delighted me as she flew eye level parallel to the burnt orange ground covered in leaves through the woods. It was a beautiful site her tail matching the color of the leaves. Her graceful glide through the woods, a reprieve from the lofty heights where she usually resides. It was soothing to my soul to witness this intimacy.
I love to see the Hawk on my walks. When I do something inside me is stirred. Perhaps it is a connection fostered by the belief that I cultivated in Natalie that Carolyn’s spirit is carried in the Hawk.
